The Art of Efficient Practicing Seminar


This weekend-long seminar is for 12 inspired string players who are at a crossroad in their professional life whether it be personal and musical growth, audition or competition preparation or general performance advancement...

This workshop will help you organize your practice routines efficiently and help you become self-reliant musicians in the ever-changing field of music.


Goals for this seminar include:

  • Learn basic efficient practicing skills

  • Learn and practice and perform your piece through group class teaching

  • Learn how to receive and integrate feedback on performance

  • Improve basic technique

  • Take any performance goal and break it down into simple, efficient and strategic practice plans to effectively reach your performance goals.


Seminar Schedule (subject to change)

Friday, August 2
4pm: Arrival and registration
5pm: Introduction to the Seminar (Attendees, schedule highlights, Efficient Practicing concepts, lessons expectations, questions)
6pm: Pot-Lock dinner
7pm to 9pm: Group Performance Class - Everyone performs in front of one another - Feedback


Saturday, August 3
10am to 12pm: Efficient Practicing Session 1
12pm: Lunch
1:30pm to 3:30pm: Group Technique Class
Break
4pm to 7pm: Group Performance Class

Sunday, August 4
10am to 12pm: Group Technique Class
12pm: Lunch and Break (Practice time)
3pm to 5pm: Efficient Practicing Session 2
5:30pm to 7:30pm: Appetizers and participants concert
7:30pm: Close out party/dinner and conversations

Investment fee: $599 (payment must be received with your registration to confirm your spot)
